Overview of CNC Accessories (0:00-1:20)
0:00-0:17: “Hello. Hello. Welcome back to another legacy training video. My name is Chris and today we’re gonna continue the machine installation process. We could call this part two that covers the accessory box and all the items that come with your C N C machine that are not already attached to the C N C when it’s delivered.”
0:24-1:21: “Here are all the standard items that come with your Maverick four by eight ATC system. We’re going to mention each item, how many come with the machine, and some of these items will receive instructions on how to hook them up to the machine in this video. Um, the other items will receive more details in other training videos. To start, we have our Delta controller. This is a touchscreen interface that needs to be hooked up to the system that will be hooked up with these, uh, control cables. We also provide a keyboard and a mouse for controls, uh, for technical support purposes. We also provide this u usb, well actually it’s a wifi antenna, uh, but it has a USB port adapter, um, directly to the machine. Um, we also provide the seven tool holders. So in each one of these boxes you have a, uh, a tool holder. And with that we also have an eight piece call it set that will come with the machine to get tools in and out of those tool holders.”
Connecting the Delta Controller (1:20-3:05)
1:18-3:05: “machine to get tools in and out of those tool holders. We have our tool changing wrench, uh, for additional adjustments and fixture adjustments. We have our two T Allen wrenches here. We also have a filter that will be located at the power box And now’s proceed to the other items which cover fixturing. For the horizontal table, we have our mounting bolts. Uh, there are 16 here in this bag, but there are eight already in the grid table holding these two grid tables down to the machine when it’s delivered. In total, you’ll have 24 bolts with 24 flat washers. We also provide for the grid table this 40 foot round, uh, foam cable, um, that goes around the perimeter of the vacuum table itself. For the vertical table, we have two of these fences. There’s a straight fence as well as a pivot fence with the mounting hardware. For the turning center, uh, we have our tell stock that will be, um, taken in and out of the machine to accommodate different fixtures. Uh, we also have a live center that will attach directly to the number two Morse taper tell stock shaft To adjust the tell stock. We have our five sixteenths, uh, nut driver and we also have a, a starting fixture on the turning center. That’s a four jaw chuck. Uh, to get you guys going. Last, we have a can of Dyna Glide for maintenance purposes as well as our turning software conversational CAM essentials. And this is the USB flash drive that you can use, uh, to plug and install into any PC computer. The first thing we’re going to connect in this video is the controller to the machine. Now that’s done through the control cables. So let’s show you where the connection points are on the back of the controller”
Setting Up Input Devices (3:05-4:51)
3:02-3:23: “So let’s show you where the connection points are on the back of the controller and on the machine on the back of the controller box, you can see that there’s four ports. Uh, the one that doesn’t have a cable or any connection point tied to it, we’re gonna ignore for now. Um, the V F D and the MP one, we can undo those and we’ll be able to see the ethernet connection.”
3:28-3:52: “So we have two ethernet connections and a power connection. The power cable has a black and green ethernet cable and a power connection cable. Now it really doesn’t matter which ethernet cable goes here. I’m just going to pick one in this case. The longer one, the black one, I’m gonna put to the MP one And the green one, I’m gonna put to the V F D.”
3:56-4:51: “And then we’ll connect the power cable and you’ll need to twist the power cable until it lines up with the key. Then it’ll press in and you’ll be able to twist lock it in. Now we need to make sure that the same color cable in this case, the black is tied to the MP one and the green is tied to the vfd. I need to connect the same colors to the same ports on the machine. Once the controller has been connected, um, by the control cables to the machine, we can connect the keyboard and mouse. Now your USB port, you slide open, the back of your mouse is usually back here. Obviously you’ll need to provide your own batteries and make sure to flip everything on. And then your u SB port can go in a couple locations. On the side of the box here is a u SB port that we can plug into,”
Final Connections and Setup (4:51-6:28)
4:46-4:58: “On the side of the box here is a u SB port that we can plug into, as well as down here in the very front. And so it’s up to you on where you want to plug this in.”
5:04-6:28: “Also on the controller, the bottom brackets that, uh, that are the feet, um, that are resting on top of your workbench, these have these mounting holes on both ends. I recommend securing this down to your workbench to prevent any accidents. Next, we’re going to connect the wifi antenna. It’s just with a u sb port. This has a a 90 degree bend and can swivel and rotate. So I like to plug this into the side port of the controller after your controller keyboard and wifi all hooked up. The last thing we need to cover in this video is where to insert your air filter. That’s gonna be on the right side of the machine, close to the tool holders on the power supply box. Let’s go show you right here on top of the power box is where we’ll insert that, uh, filter. Now you have a a wire mesh side and a non wire mesh side. Put the wire mesh side down. There you go. The rest of these items will be covered in more detail in other videos. Uh, for now you should be all hooked up. Your power, your air, and your dust collection as well as your controller, your keyboard, and even your, your wifi should all be hooked up. The machine is now ready to work. As always, thanks for watching and we’ll see you in the next video.”
