Machine Setup Overview (0:00-1:00)

0:00-0:10: “Hello. Hello. Welcome back to another legacy training video. My name is Chris, and today we’re gonna cover machine installation and how to hook it up after you’ve positioned it in your shop.”

0:16-1:04: “Once you’ve unpacked your machine and removed the controller box, the accessory box, and perhaps all the saran wrap that may be on the system, we’re now ready for step one of actually removing the locking blocks, the shipping locking blocks that are located around the machine. There are four of them on the x axis on the bottom, gantry two on each side. There are two of them on the Y axis, and there are two of them on the Z axis. Let me show you how to remove those blocks. So the, so that the machine can actually move freely on the Maverick four by eight cnc, you’re gonna find these shipping blocks tied directly to these round shaft rods. Uh, so you’ll find them on the very end of the traveling of the gantry or carriage. Simply remove the two bolts and take the block off completely and the machine”

Removing Shipping Locks (1:00-1:45)

0:59-1:05: “Simply remove the two bolts and take the block off completely and the machine will build to move freely.”

1:40-1:45: “Now that you have removed all eight of the shipping locking blocks, the machine will move freely.”

Connecting Dust Collection (1:45-2:30)

1:44-2:30: “the machine will move freely. The next step is to hook up the dust collection to the top of the manifold. The top of the manifold has a six inch round diameter port to connect your ducting. You can see here I’ve already, uh, connected a reducer to match my ducting that I have here in my shop. Um, you’ll have to do whatever fits in yours. Uh, the recommended airflow for the dust collection that is listed for this machine is 1500 cfm. Uh, how you decide to plumb your ducting over the machine is completely up to you. It can be a swing arm or a rolling chassis. I have a swing arm that we’re using here in the shop, and so I’m just gonna hook up the hose to the top port here. Once you’ve attached the dust collection to the machine,”

Air Pressure Setup (2:30-3:30)

2:27-3:33: “Once you’ve attached the dust collection to the machine, we can proceed to the next step, which is attaching or connecting the air pressure for the auto tool change function and pneumatic dust shoe. On the right hand side of the machine, you’re gonna have the, uh, tool clips. It’s a dead giveaway, and we have our big power box. In the back right corner, you’re gonna find the connection point for the air pressure. Now, the connector that we provide is an industrial standard quarter inch connector. The air requirements for the machine is 110 psi and that air needs to be dried and cleaned. Uh, in other words, we don’t want any humidity or, uh, microparticles flowing through the machine as we’re using it. Once you’ve connected the air pressure to the machine, the last step is hooking up your power. Now, here in the power junction box, you’re gonna need a certified and qualified electrician, uh, to do these steps for you. But if you open up the back of these, uh, power boxes, this is exactly where he’s gonna work. Now, the power requirements for the machine on the Maverick four by eight systems are”

Power Connection Requirements (3:30-4:08)

3:29-4:08: “the power requirements for the machine on the Maverick four by eight systems are a two 20 single phase power source. The amperage varies depending on some options that you have. It, it’s all tied to the vacuum table. If you have the four port vacuum table, you’re gonna need a 50 amp service for the machine. If you don’t have the vacuum table on the system, then your entire machine will only require 30 amps. With the dust collection, the air pressure, and the power hooked up to the machine, you’re now ready to proceed with attaching the rest of the items in the accessory box.
