Introduction to Moving the Machine (0:00-0:54)

0:00-0:55: “Hello. Hello. Welcome back to another training video. Today we’re gonna talk about moving your machine and getting it into the right position in your shop. And there’s really two methods of moving your machine. The first one, which was previously mentioned in the un creating video where you can use your forklift to either, um, load from the front edge or from the long edge. Either one, it will just depend on the length of the forks that you may need based on your machine. Um, make sure again to check out the support document I listed in those videos. Um, so you have the right forklift length and weight for your machine. Now the, the second way of moving the machine is if you’re in tighter quarters, ’cause a, a forklift if you’re trying to get it into position, but you, you just don’t have room to do that, then we need another method, and that is using our mobility kit accessory. And so this is a, an accessory that you can get added to your machine at any time. Um, but this allows you to now maneuver the machine”

Using the Forklift (0:54-1:25)

0:53-1:26: “Um, but this allows you to now maneuver the machine after you have it off of the crate so you have it on the floor and you just need to wheel it into the correct position and then, um, remove that mobility kit. So, um, we’re gonna show you how that works and how to raise and lower the machine to activate and deactivate that mobility kit. I’m gonna pass the time over to John and he’s gonna show us how it’s done. Hey, I’m back again. I wanted to talk a little bit about once you get your machine, if you’ve got a mobility kit, you’re also gonna have a jack and your wheels are gonna be attached to each of the four legs.”

Mobility Kit Overview (1:25-2:31)

1:24-1:49: “to each of the four legs. So what we’re gonna do now, we’re gonna take the machine off the crate and then we’re gonna go ahead and show you how to use your mobility kit. Alright, we got the machine off the crate. We got the jack out of the box. Let’s put that aside. Let’s go ahead and jack this up. We’re gonna put it underneath here. There’s gonna be a little recess for it. We’re just gonna lift it up. Notice it’s pretty easy. It’s gonna sit in a hole right there. Okay, once we’re here, it’s just a couple of jacks.”

2:01-2:31: “All right, once we’re there, all we gotta do is release these cotter pin right here. I’m gonna come around the other side. Now Pop it out, slide it in place, redo the cotter pin. Let’s go to the other side. Pull out this, bring it down, drop the pin back in place and re-lock the cotter pin. Okay, now with the mobile able kit lifted up and locked into place, I want you to notice”

Jacking Up the Machine (2:31-3:17)

2:28-2:50: “and locked into place, I want you to notice how the upper pin and the lower pin are running parallel. And the pin is on the front side of this leg right here. That’ll hold the wheel in the upright or mobility position. Once you’ve got your machine in position, all we’re gonna do is put the jack back underneath it, or we’re just gonna lift it up one more time.”

2:59-3:17: “So let’s go ahead and move the wheel up into its stored position and go ahead and pull the cotter pin, bring it up, chop our pin back through it, and let’s just lock it back into place. Okay, with the machine in position, the wheels in the upright”

Maneuvering the Machine (3:17-3:49)

3:16-3:24: “the wheels in the upright and stored location, let’s go ahead and drop the machine back down to the floor and you’re ready to go to work.”

3:32-3:50: “A final note on using the mobility kit, and this is a tip from a number of our customers because each caster, there’s four casters. When you have the machine lifted up, each caster will actually pivot. So it’ll become a lot easier to maneuver the machine if you have two or more people kind of steering it into position.”

Final Steps and Tips (3:49-4:34)

3:48-4:34: “or more people kind of steering it into position. Um, there you go. You can do it by yourself. It’ll just take a little bit of back and forth shimmy work, um, because you don’t have one ends with stationary wheels pointing in a single direction. So, uh, that’s, that’s the tip from our customers. But yeah, being able to maneuver the machine at any time, this can also come in handy not just to position the machine in your shop but the first time. Uh, but also if you’re planning to move the machine in and out of an operation area because you have a really tight space, you’re trying to maximize the space in your shop, you can use that mobility kit to bring the machine out into an operation space and then wheel it back into a, a, a put away location. So I’ll leave that up to you on how you want to manage that in your shop, but we’ll see you guys in the next training video.”
