We recommend it for linear rails, cast iron tables, tool holders, fixtures, and other exposed machined surfaces, especially in coastal environments.
Desert Shops
Dry climates increase static electricity, dust, wood movement, and electrical noise. Good grounding, effective dust collection, and proper lumber acclimation become especially important.
Humid and Tropical Climates
High humidity encourages rust, condensation, mold, lumber movement, and finishing challenges. Compressed air dryers, good airflow, and climate-controlled lumber storage improve reliability. Applying Dynaglide® after cleaning exposed precision surfaces provides additional corrosion protection.
High Elevation Shops
Mountain shops often experience larger temperature swings, condensation, and different compressor performance. Observation and routine inspections usually provide the best results.
Unheated Shops
Allow the machine and spindle to warm gradually, verify compressed air pressure, inspect for condensation, and allow lumber to acclimate. If the machine will remain idle for extended periods, clean exposed precision surfaces and apply Dynaglide® before storage.
