The Legacy Woodworking Academy has rated its classes as to the level of difficulty involved in completing the project included as well as the detail level of training the Academy includes in the instructions given. These ratings are provided to assist woodworkers in selecting those items that will best meet there skills and interests: These ratings are:

Levels of Difficulty:

Level 1: These classes are designed for the beginner woodworker who has had little or no experience in using Legacy’s ornamental mill.

Level 2: These classes are designed for the intermediate woodworker who understands the basic operations of Legacy’s ornamental mill.

Level 3: These classes are designed for those who have had considerable woodworking experience and who have had extensive experience in using Legacy’s ornamental mill.

Levels of Training:

Level 1: These classes include video, photo and detailed written instructions relating to every step of the milling process required to complete the included project.

Level 2: These classes include sufficient written instructions along with helpful video and photographic information related to the basic woodworking and milling techniques that will assist those who have an intermediate understanding of Legacy’s ornamental mill to complete the included project. References may also be made to the basic information that is included in Legacy Woodworking Academy’s Technical Course and/or that which is included in the training DVDs that accompany each machine.

Level 3: In order to reduce the necessity for the more informed operator having to read through detailed instructions on how to perform many of the basic procedures and techniques used in the milling process, these classes give only a general written overview accompanied by sufficient video and photographic information that may help in the completion of the included project. It may also include in depth information relating to new or special techniques used, items that may be critical to the milling process including any information out of the ordinary that may be of assistance to the operator.

The definitions of the three Levels of Difficulty and the three Levels of Training included in the above paragraphs are designed to be used by operators of Legacy’s ornamental mill as guidelines only. There intent is to assist mill operators in selecting classes that will best meet their immediate needs and interests. It must be realized, of course, that what may seem simple to one may appear difficult to another. For example, because of its apparent complex design (that includes a hollow spiral column) the class titled Candlestick #1 may seem difficult for those who are not familiar with the versatile aspects of the ornamental mill. It is quite easy to accomplish, however, when the simple mechanics of the mill as well as the milling techniques used are understood. We have rated this class as having a Difficulty Level of 2 (intermediate level) and a Training Level of 1 (the most detailed).

Be aware that these classes do not take the place of the training DVDs that are included with each machine.
